financepodcasts-businesspodcasts.jpgWho doesn’t love a good podcast? If you haven’t decided to start listening to podcasts, we encourage you to give them a shot. They’re great when you’re traveling, commuting, or even doing low-focus tasks that allow you to listen.

We live in a world where pretty much anyone can start their own radio show over the Internet, and while there are definitely some duds out there, there are some real gems, and ones that real estate investors can learn from.

These are just a few business and finance podcasts we’ve found that you might want to check out!

5 Highly Rated Finance and Business Podcasts

1. Money for the Rest of Us with J. David Stein

A straightforward, down-to-earth financial podcast that covers all things financial from an educational perspective without being dry. His topics cover everything from personal finance and investing to macroeconomics and government spending, ensuring that you never worry about money. David is all about filling gaps in education with a personal touch, no matter what the topic is.

Average iTunes Rating: 5 Stars

“David does a wonderful job explaining various financial aspects. As someone with little knowledge in investments and the economy, this is an excellent educational tool. The personal stories and examples spice things up and help with comprehension. Well done!”

2. Business Mistakes with James Richman

While most podcasts can run at least an hour in length, if not several, Business Mistakes episodes are bite-sized: something you can listen to on even a short commute. Because of their short format, they’ve been putting out episodes daily, each one an interview with real people talking transparently about real mistakes, trials, and tribulations they’ve experienced in their careers.

It’s learning from other people’s mistakes in a very literal sense! Current episodes are on hold until further notice, but there’s a size-able backlog of old episodes to go through.

“I love that I can finish an entire episode on my short drive home. Don't get me wrong, I love long shows as well, but it's refreshing to have a great smaller show as well. A very informative podcast dealing the mistakes, lessons learned, and how to improve in the business world.”

3. Masters in Business with Barry Ritholtz

From Bloomberg, Masters in Business goes in-depth with interviews that have an economic bent but also cover a wide range of topics and industries. With great guests and insightful questions, there’s really something here for everyone: whether you’re looking for Nobel-prize winners or top CEOs.

“The breadth and scope of this series has been unbelievable. One of the many unique features of this podcast has been its range of guests. This podcast is about more than Finance and Wall Street as it also delves into the worlds of academia, entertainment, and life in general. It can generate feelings of discomfort which can help you grow both professionally and personally.”

4. Stacking Benjamins with Joe Saul-Sehy

Who says finance has to be boring? Joe and OJ are most known for how they interject humor into the notoriously dry topic of money, without neglecting education of professionalism. They take investing, personal finance, taxes, retirement, and things that affect us, and talk about it in a way that’s both entertaining and informed.

“These guys are the perfect combination. I love finance anyway but this podcast adds comedy with such a professional layout. It has improved so much over the last year or so I was very impressed. So much content in every show.”

5. Wits About You with Alex Cespedes

Wits About You is a brand new podcast that just started up in 2016, but it’s already starting off on a good foot. It’s definitely not a financial podcast, but more in the vein of a motivational or inspirational show—dealing more with topics like rejection, being deliberate and sticking to goals, the power in mentorship, and honing your communication skills. In other words, things anyone can learn from!

Average iTunes Rating: 5 Stars

Select User Review:

“Wits About You is an excellent podcast. The show's host Alex seamlessly mixes fascinating topics and relevant interviews to really drive his point home. Think NPR with a spin. Each episode a new journey in learning life's little intricacies and how to tackle or make them work for you rather than against you.”
