There’s some crazy tech out there. For real estate investors, the ever-increasing pool of technological advances poses opportunities to increase efficiency and save time and money. Whether you’re looking for a nifty gadget or smartphone productivity tools, there’s plenty out there!
One of the great things about all these tech advances is that it does not matter if you are an entrepreneur and looking for business style apps or a small investor needing smaller more individual style apps, there are some great ones out there.

Trulia

Who hasn’t heard of Trulia? It’s a great multi-use app and website used primarily for finding properties. Recently, Kent Sr. was on a trip to relax....for anyone who has met Kent Sr. that may sound odd! But yes, he was on a vacation and he pulled up the Trulia app on their daily walks to see local housing prices and data such as recent sales and even rental values. The searches can be refined and filtered intuitively. Trulia itself has consistently been a good source for real estate market news, making it an indispensable resource for investors.
Mortgage Calculator

Need to do some quick calculations? Mortgage Calculator is there to easily and quickly present you with all of the ins-and-outs of your mortgage repayment. It takes into account numerous factors to give you accurate results, including monthly or bi-weekly payment amounts and the estimated payoff date for the future.
Cam Scanner

Uh-oh. You need to send a document electronically but you’re nowhere near your scanner. Never fear! This app uses your smartphone’s camera to create high-quality PDFs that you can send from anywhere. The scan quality here is great — documents don’t look like they were simply taken from someone’s phone.
Docu-Sign

Does someone need your John Hancock? Sign Easy means you can give it to them on the go. It allows you to sign documents from any device. Never fumble around for a pen again. We use this app. for all of our contract signings and it has become an integral part of our companies processes.
Square

A Square card reader can give tenants an easy alternative method to paying rent. When you sign up for Square, they’ll ship you a card reader for free. You sync it to a bank account and Square automatically sends payments. The card reader takes several major credit and debit cards, allowing you or your manager to accept payments on the go! Square does take a small cut of all transactions, but if that doesn’t bother you, it’s an incredibly convenient tool.

For investors, it saves you the trouble of changes keys and locks with each tenant — simply change the security code.
