Yet another Holiday season has come and gone.  Months of shopping for those perfect gifts and spending time with family that you love (or the relatives you can only tolerate one time a year).  Either way, it’s always memorable in some way to everyone.  Here at MemphisInvest.com the years are filled with busy office days and event travels.  2010 was no different, if anything one of the busiest years.  Even with the mayhem of wrapping up the year and  moving full steam ahead into 2011, we never forget that it’s also the time a year when giving back is most important.

Buying rental properties can be a tricky proposition and being a new investor makes it even tougher. After acquiring over 4,500 properties, serving 1,700 clients and managing $600 million in assets, we know a thing or two about real estate investing. And we got here by following a lot of the tips I'm sharing with you today in this video. We've heard from so many people that have learned the hard way, and we want nothing more than to help others reach their investment goals by avoiding these common mistakes.

This is a re-print from a post I made over a year ago.  I think its always good for Memphis real estate investors to get a refresher on the questions they should ask before buying investment properties.

If you are an investor or even just an interested investor reading up on real estate blogs, this is going to be an interesting piece of advice.  Most Memphis real estate investors are tuned into the neighborhoods they like and where they can get the best return for their investment.  Unfortunately, there are a lot of unscrupulous people out there who are out to make quick bucks on Memphis properties.  Memphis is, after all, one of the top real estate investment cities in the country.
