By Chris Clothier on Mon, Feb 8, 2010
Educate yourself as an investor with these Real Estate Investing, Business and Life in general books!
I've been asked repeatedly over the last few weeks by investors to put together a list of books that I have read or could recommend to other real estate investors who are looking to get started. Most of the clients or prospective clients that I talk to are familiar with my rise as a real estate investor and the fact that my family today operates one of the largest real estate wholesaling companies, MemphisInvest.com, in the country. They know that we own 1800SellNow.com and that we operate the largest non-profit real estate investors association, Mid-South REIA, in the Mid-South.

Memphis Invest, GP, a local Memphis real estate investing firm, has always been proud to serve the greater Memphis community with causes that directly effect the affordable housing situation in Memphis and the restoration of neighborhoods that have been decimated by the falling economy. In the past we have supported Habitat for Humanity as well as local food pantries, meal kitchens and over-night support centers. After having had such a blessed year, we decided to add one more charitable organization to our donation list.

Will Federal assistance help Memphis real estate investing?
By Chris Clothier on Wed, Nov 18, 2009
I found a great article from RISMEDIA on line detailing how the tax credits work and thought I would share it with everyone while also giving my take on how the tax credit can help investors. I have been asked several times over the last couple of weeks if the tax credits would help with the Memphis investment real estate market. I think it can if investors are smart with how they try to utilize it. Whether selling an existing property to a tenant or purchasing a new property for fix n flip, investors need to be realistic with how much play they will actually get from the program.
